What will your role be?

As a member of the P2 consulting community, you will deliver consulting solutions to support a breadth of client needs. This includes supporting client bids, the development of solutions to enhance the Company’s services, and the mobilisation of client facing projects.

As a member of the Continuous Testing & Assurance Practice you will more specifically support the delivery of business solutions to meet the needs of our clients.
Our client base is UK-wide and we require our Consultants to have the flexibility to work across the UK.


What responsibilities will you have?

As a Management Consultant at P2 Consulting, you will be engaging in the full spectrum of consulting activities including but not limited to the following:

• Engage with P2 Consulting and client staff to provide the very highest levels of value and service
• Ensure compliance with P2 Consulting Assure -our engagement methodology- created to get projects off the ground rapidly and ensure they deliver with certainty
• Proactive engagement with immediate project team members, and wider consulting teams, to facilitate effective team working, create collaborative outcomes and support knowledge sharing
• Support effective governance and risk management practices, ensuring key issues are managed or escalated, as appropriate
• Provision of reporting and analysis, as needed
• Contribute to business development, solution development, and the creation of proposals and associated marketing to support client and prospective client requirements
• Active involvement in the renewal of their engagement on assignments
• Contributing to the creation of collateral, the development of services, and associated marketing to enhance the capabilities of the Consulting Practice.
• Proactively embrace assessment and development processes to ensure the maintenance and enhancement of skills, knowledge, experience, professional insights, and competencies that underpin consulting value.
• Taking an active role in networking, P2 Consulting ‘Connect’ events, and the personal and professional development opportunities.

As a member of the Continued Testing & Assurance practice, specific role responsibilities of the Test Manager will flex depending on client needs.

Responsibilities will include a potential combination of:

• Management of the overall end to end testing lifecycle for programmes/projects
• Delivery of testing solutions, test resource structure, estimates, strategies and schedules
• Manage the test team effectively through test planning, design and execution activities
• Management of the test team through functional, automation and performance test execution and capturing evidence
• Provide guidance and advice on quality assurance and testing to client and supplier teams
• Implement test governance, quality gate processes and reporting framework
• Implement test standards and alignment with industry best practices
• Measure quality by associating production incidents and implement changes to minimise future issues
• Maintain programme test schedule for resource capacity management, escalating any resource constraints when necessary
• Management of the test tools to support functional and non-functional testing
• Management of risks and issues, including escalations where required
• Ensure all deliverables are delivered to agreed project timelines and to quality high-standards
• Manage quality assurance of test team and supplier test deliverables
• Lead test maturity assessments (TMMi), provide recommendations and improvement roadmap
• Implement and lead test focus group where applicable to develop a collaborative cross-supplier approach to quality assurance and testing.


You will need to be able to demonstrate a fit to the following profile:

Education and Training:

• A record of continuous professional development
• Ideally degree level, within a technology or business discipline
• A commitment to continue to develop both personally and professionally
• Relevant professional qualifications (such as International Software Testing Qualifications Board – BCS ISTQB® – or the equivalent gained through practical experience).

You will have experience of the following

Essential Experience:
• Consultancy experience
• Financial services, business change and/or digital industries
• Experience across the quality assurance and testing lifecycle, including industry standard techniques and tools
• Management of test teams across functional/non-functional testing
• Worked within a multi-supplier project environment
• A growing specialism in an area aligned to the services of P2 Consulting.

Test Management Experience:
• Ideally, the candidate should have 7+ years plus experience of a test/development environment, or a technical support environment
• Experience of the full software project lifecycle (waterfall, agile, DevOps)
• Ideally experience in financial services, business change and/or digital industries
• Track record of successful project delivery
• Extensive experience with various test techniques to support test programmes
• Experience of building strong relationships with clients
• Proven experience of managing successful teams, managing deliverables on time and within budget
• Capability of operating with senior level executives and adept at stakeholder management.
• Excellent communication skills
• Good problem solving and analytical skills.

• Meeting and exceeding client expectations
• Delivery of outcomes relevant to client projects and P2 Consulting development projects
• Timely and accurate completion of administrative requirements, including, but not exclusively, time recording, expense submission, performance and development planning, skills profile update
• Compliance with P2 Consulting policies and processes, and relevant client policies and processes when engaged on client projects
• Working in accordance with P2 Consulting Values and being an advocate and ambassador for the P2 Consulting business
• This role can include specific budgetary accountabilities
• This role can include direct line management responsibilities.
